About Orpail
Orpail is a cross-asset social intelligence platform. We measure where the market's attention is going, across stocks and crypto, by aggregating public social, forum, and news activity into one clean, honest signal. Not how the crowd feels, but where it is looking, how fast that is shifting, and how broadly.
Why Orpail exists
Orpail started with a simple test. Before building anything to sell, we wanted to know whether social-media hype actually predicts stock prices, the thing every tool in this space claims to do. So we built the data collection, scored the attention, and checked it honestly against what markets did next.
The answer was the one the academic research keeps reaching: social attention is genuinely informative about where focus is moving, but it is not a reliable predictor of price. The relationship is noisy and unstable, and whatever edge shows up in a backtest tends to vanish when tested in real time.
Most tools bury that finding and sell a confident "buy signal" anyway. We decided to build the honest version instead, a platform that measures attention rigorously and is upfront about what that does and does not mean.
What we believe
Honesty is the product. In a space full of confident guesses and black-box scores, the rarest and most valuable thing we can offer is a straight answer. Because we are honest about the one thing most tools overpromise, you can trust us on everything else.
Information, not instruction. We make you better informed about where the market's attention is going, then get out of the way. We do not hand you a green light or imply a certainty we have not earned.
Show the work. Every Social Heat score breaks down into the drivers behind it, volume, velocity, and breadth. No magic number you are asked to trust blindly.
Who is behind it
Orpail is built by Jakub Nawrocki and operated by TurnR Ltd trading as Orpail, a company registered in England and Wales. Jakub has a background in product and data, building tools that turn messy public information into clear signals. He started Orpail after running that prediction test himself and deciding the market needed an honest alternative to the hype.
You can read more of his thinking on the blog, where we cover what the research actually says about social sentiment, why attention beats mood, and the difference between measuring attention and selling forecasts.
A note on what we are
Orpail provides informational and educational data about publicly available social and news activity. It is not investment advice, not a recommendation to buy, sell, or hold any security or digital asset, and not a prediction of price or performance. Social attention is one lens among many. Always do your own research.
